Blank red eyes stared off into the distance, the autumn air whirled her pale purple hair around her face, but she didn't seem to mind. It hid the fist sized bruise swelling over her eye, her sweater and jeans hiding the others.
She had been sitting on the rock for some time now, hours. Up high, closer to the sky and the clouds and stars. Closer to the moon. Here is where she felt home. Here is where she could be how she really was and not have to worry about her father. Not have to worry about anything back at home.
She and her cousin Kuro had found this place a few years back, the first time she had slipped away from home with him. It was here she found peace. It was here that she found her second best friend, Kageneko. A black and white cat with attitude. Thinking of her friends a small broken smile tugged her lips up, she hadn't seen then in a while. Kuro out on missions, Kageneko wondering around no doubt.
The sun was setting, but she knew she wasn't going home, she wasn't about to be hurt again, by someone who was supposed to lover her. Her broken smile turned bitter, he didn't love her. She didn't even think she was capable of love. No she wasn't about to go home. Gin Haji Kaze was staying here tonight.

The Tsuchikage had recently assigned him to a petty little genin team, with two girls and one guy on it. Setsunai wasn`t the type of man to want to waste time on such matters, however his friend had specifically asked him to do the job which he didnt intend to refuse. He was the Tsuchikage`s right hand man, they were practically like brothers and the Tsuchikage was hardly ever seen without him.
But on this evening, Setsunai found himself in search of these genin he was to train up for the exams that would soon take place in the village hidden in the rocks. Setsunai appeared behind Gin, arms folded tightly across his chest as he stared off into the distance trying to figure out what the genin could be thinking about. Setsunai was an odd man, his color scheme was black, white, and grey for the most part.
"Good evening Miss Gin Haji Kaze, what brings you here on this fine day of days? Could it be the pleasant sent in the evening air, or perhaps the sunset to come? Ah, the wonders of the world still surprise me. Don`t you feel the same way?" asked Setsunai, trying to make some kind of conversation. His bright blue eyes stared down at her, and the dark rings around his eyes made them seem even brighter than they were. Setsunai flashed his bright, pointed teeth at her in a smile. He seemed friendly enough.

Although the sudden arrival of the older ninja suprised her gin showed nothing of it onher face, glancing over at the man with blank red eyes. However she didn't bother to turn her head full toward him and soon enough turned her gaze back to the sky, his bright eyes seemed to burn her dull ones and his pointed smile was to friendly. He acted as if they were'nt complete strangers, which in fact they were, Gin had no idea who he was.
No, that was a lie. She knew him, who here at the village didn't. He was Setsunai, the Tsuchikage's right hand man. What he could possibly what with her? "Good evening Miss Gin Haji Kaze, what brings you here on this fine day of days? Could it be the pleasant sent in the evening air, or perhaps the sunset to come? Ah, the wonders of the world still surprise me. Don`t you feel the same way?" Here just for small talk? Turning back to the older ninja, she regared him with a stony expression. Those who didn't know her would probably say she was being rude, but in true this was just Gin acting Gin.
"There are no wonders of this world, and no I didn't come here to stare off into the sun or sky. I'm here to think," she paused to turn toward him more, sure to keep her light hair over her bruised eye, "what do you want? I'm pretty sure you didn't come here for small talk." Her voice was cool and calculating as was her eyes as they sumed him up. As if he were an enemy, which was absured, he was from the same village.

Setsunai seemed surprised, and his face went through several different odd expressions to show his shock. This genin seemed so.... dull. And that meant that this was going to be a nightmare for the rather hyper jonin. Setsunai scratched his head and recrossed his arms once again.
"You don`t just come here to see all of the beautiful sights there are to see? Thinking, as good as it is, can dull down the mind... it can close you out from the mysterious world out there! Hehehehe." Setsunai ended his words with a little chuckle. However, when Gin asked what he wanted his smile turned to a very sudden scowl. How dare a lowly genin speak to him that way?! It ignited a roaring fire deep inside of him, but Setsunai knew he couldn`t just kill her.... not yet anyways.
"Is that any way to speak to the man that will control your actions until you become a chuunin? I`m the man that can make your career as a shinobi go smoothly or I can make it a living nightmare."

Slightly taken aback by his threats, Gin pulled back, her only outward reaction was the widening of her red eyes. But it lasted only seconds before they became cold once more and she turned her gaze onto the sky, the wind just as cold flinging her hair into her face.
His words played back in her mind and an image of her father appear, him shouting similar words. "You'll do as I say danm it! Or you'll live will be a nightmare!"
The reminder brought a bitter twist to her lips, "so you my sensi..... Sorry to have upset you." Although her expressionless voice didn't sound sorry at all. Sitting up, she brushed dart of her jeans, pulling down the sleeves of her sweater as they rose. Combing her fingers through her hair in a quick jerky movement she turned to face him fully, her red eyes staring up at him, though her right eye felt swelled, she knew it had to look a lot worse.

Setsunai laughed as if a joke had been told, to ease up the moment just a bit, then raised an eyebrow at the genin. Out of all of the people the jonin had met in his nearly thirty years of life, Gin was by far one of the most boring personalities that he had ever come across. "Hopefully the two other genin on my team weren`t as dull," thought Setsunai for a second time.
"I do as a matter of fact, Ryuu and Bunko will be on your team. Ryuu is the Tsuchikage`s son, so it`s a great honor to have him join us on our team.... I guess." Setsunai said in response, "Oh, I`m terribly sorry. I`ve failed to introduce myself, though you probably already know my name. I am Setsunai Tanuki. I go by either name, so which ever is easier for you to remember if fine with me. Most people find Setsunai hard to recall, so Tanuki is most frequently used."

She nodded, not bothering to say anything more, it wasn't needed, she knew who he was. She had heard of her teammates before, and she knew what she'd call him. Sensei. But she did have a few questions regarding training, and her teammates. Opening her mouth to speak she clamped it shut again when a loud meow echoed from the ground.
Startled she turned her red eyes to the white cat at her feet, staring up at her impatiantly, flicking it's black tail. And here was one of her questions. Glancing up at her sensei through dark lashes she nodded pointingly toward the feline. "You don't mind if Kageneko joins me do you?"
Not waiting for his answer she bent low to allow the cat to leap apun her shoulder. Straightening up, she scratched at the cats ears, not able to hide the fondness in her eyes. The cat to seemed happy for she licked at the bruse that swelled uder the young girls eyes, but the cats large yellow eyes never left Setsunai.
Mood slightly improved at the arrival of her friend, Gin turned to her sensei once more, her face no longer expressionless. Traces of amusment and keen observent there, as well as something close to fear, "Ryuu and Bunko huh? Never meet them, not to happy about the thought of meeting new people, but it must be done." Her voice showed her annoyance, it was obvous her usually dull mask was slipping. But it slipping further was unlikly. For now.
